RELL

RellSouthern Hospitality
R&B Gentleman
By Alonda DuVall
Ladies may swoon over the tough-talking city boys, but in the end what they really want is an old-fashioned southern gentleman. A man who understands the importance of chivalry-- one who'll show up on the doorstep with a dozen long-stem roses just because, or will massage her feet after a long day at work.
That's where the hypnotic, soulful and multi-talented RELL steps in. Hailing from the small, dusty town of Bowman, South Carolina, not only is RELL a certifiable vocal powerhouse, he's a bona-fide gentleman.
Exuding the amorous spirit and old-school charm of those who hail from below the Mason-Dixon line--soul legends such as Stevie Wonder, Al Green and Sam Cooke-- RELL's poignant, thoughtfully penned lyrics are the perfect compliment to his goosebump-inducing pipes and multi-octave range.
The former South Carolina State pre-med student's sizzling debut has been a long time coming. The first male R&B solo artist signed to Roc-a-Fella Records, RELL got his first break in 1998, appearing in Jay-Z's rap cult flick, “Streets Is Watching”, and contributing the feel-good club banger, ”Love For Free” to the movie's soundtrack. Going on to sing hooks for nearly every Roc-A-Fella MC since --including Jay-Z’s, “ It's Obvious” and “Freeway's Victim Of The Ghetto”-- and appearing on “The Message” featuring Mary J. Blige from Dr. Dre's classic Chronic 2001. RELL knew it was just a matter of time before he could introduce his sophisticated, seductively retro sound to the masses.

“I like speaking to the ladies on behalf of all the men out there, he explains of his confectionery ballads, most of which he wrote. I love the idea that a guy will hear what I'm saying, play it for his girl and say, 'You know what? That's how I feel about you, right there. That's what I'm trying to say. Sit your ass down right here and press play,' he laughs. At the end of the day, I'm just the interpreter.”

JENINE SIMONE

She will, She will...Rock you
Rocks’ new look
By Richard Bruckner
Chiseled from layers of music sedimentary and mythical Egyptian Gods, with spare time on their hands, we meet Jenine Simone. Singer, songwriter, producer and performer. Driven and simply beautiful. An artist who refreshingly reconstructs our antiquated Rock/Pop archetype.

A native New Yorker, Jenine Simone, 24, currently lives in Houston, Texas. Her family’s not so distant roots trace back to the beautiful caribbean isles of Aruba and Grenada.
She says growing up, she’d listened to a plethora of musicians, artist and composers at home. “
My teachers ranged from (Rock legends) YES to (Hip-Hop legend),The Notorious B.I.G.” Jenine informs me, with total conviction and a sign of that Brook-lynn solidarity, “B.I.G.G.I.E was the best.”
I see myself as a breath of fresh air to the (Rock) genre and market. Music itself is one of the most expressive forms of art we have. Albeit Rap, Rock, Country or Classical, all of it is still music. If you are true to your artistry, nothing and no one can stop you. I love what I do on the stage and on the record. I leave it all there. The audience can see it. The listener can hear it. Everyone can feel it. It’s rock. It’s freedom.”
Crisp in her deliveries of melody, lyric, and infectious hooks; Jenine Simone, has got it all. Upon the very first song it immediately becomes apparent that she is more than just another pretty face. She will rock you.

Indeed, Jenine Simone is in a very unique position; the position to becoming this industry’s next big superstar.

JENNIFER ROSE

Jenny Rose, Jennifer Rose, Latina Female

A Rose By Any Other Name
R&B-Pop/Latina
By Rahsida Rohan
She discovered her voice and love for music in "The Boogie Down Bronx" at age 5. Now at age 20, Jennifer Rose is ready to hit the airwaves and touch the world. With songs like "Love No More" (title track) and "Fine" she gives us a clearer view of how young women respond to and survive a relationship gone sour. She continues to extrude her inner most fears and desires with great tracks like "Other Woman" and "Do You Right".

Her early introduction to music and respective music training by her parents put Jennifer on her path. Her first on-stage performance was at age 5, where she played the lead role of "Dorothy" in "The Wizard of Oz". Later she would go on to perform at Lincoln Center, Amateur Night at The Apollo, various talent competitions, shows and showcases.

Jennifer has a remarkable and soulful voice. Rich in timbre and raspy resonance. Compounded with her musical influences - Mary J. Blige, Gloria Estefan, Ella Fitzgerald, Millie Jackson, Stevie Wonder, create an astonishing fusion of Pop, R&B, Hip-Hop, Jazz and Latin.
All of this and not to mention that very special touch of "FUNK!" she brings.
A blossoming writer, penning and arranging most of her lyrics. Her future goals consist of recording an album (or two), a publishing deal, and making her own productions.
Jennifer Rose is not your traditional R&B, Hip-Hop, or Pop artist, in fact Jennifer is more of an experience, a transition if you will. You are just the fly on the wall.
